This drive is working beautifully in my old Xbox. However, I did have some hurdles caused by the Xbox or the programs used to duplicate the old HDD. None of these issues were mentioned in any of the guides that I watched or read, so I'll list them here:
- Chimp will NOT load if you are using a video output medium other than composite. HDMI and component will not work; you'll just see a blank screen after Chimp loads.
- Chimp will not allocate more than about 1.5TB by default when you clone your original HDD, even if you opt to assign the remaining space to the F or F and G partitions. I needed to run XBPartitioner to fully allocate all of the drive space. I recommend selecting the option that allocates about 900GB to each of the F and G partitions.
- Also, remember to toggle your IDE adapter from "slave" to "master" mode after successfully cloning your original HDD with Chimp. |
