| Locked using an 80 Wire IDE cable 45cm in length on C & E partition in Chimp. HDD was locking and everything was set up perfectly but HDD wouldn't boot and gave error 7. Turns out this was because I hadn't put the IDE cable in properly. If you have a short cable, try putting the middle connector in the disc drive then the closer connector into the motherboard, then the furthest connector goes into the HDD. Only thing i have to do is have the drive in upside down but it works without issues now. Just be very careful with cable placement so you don't punch a hole through it when reassembling the xbox. Then used XBPartitioner to increase the available memory to the rest of the HDD. Used: Startech IDE to SATA adaptor 80 wire 40 pin IDE Cable 45cm I wish you luck, hope this is helpful |
