I first tried a cheap green IDE to SATA card from ebay with a 40 pin 80 wire ribbon, the HDD could not be detected with Chimp.
I then got a new 60cm 40 pin 80 wire ribbon and a red Startech IDE to SATA card, the HDD was now detected.
I used chimp loader to copy my stock HDD to the new 2TB HDD set as slave, I selected "clone C, E, F & G" then "Custom F, G gets rest" and formatted it before locking it.
I rebooted and only had F with 123MB, and no G. So I loaded up Xbpartitioner 1.3
I cycled row 6 & 7 (F & G) to 927MB each, and importantly 64KB cluster highlighted for both (this is required for partitions above 500GB). I also set them both from 927MB down to 926MB, then formatted and rebooted. I did this because one partition won't show full space the first time. I used xbpartition again, set F & G back to 927MB, formatted a last time.
Both showing with full size perfectly. |
