| First Hard drive upgrade, and it worked but needed a little creativity because of computer bios. The hard drive works great, and after formating I gained about 68000MB of F drive space. Difficulty arose because I have sata cd rom and hard drives and the bios weren't adequately customizable to make things easy. The bios kept freezing the HDD and I found a way to bypass this problem and the problem of a sata cdrom. solution: used the xbox dvd drive to read the xboxhdm disc (which forced me to burn the disc to dvd using k3b in linux). Required using the xbox to power the dvdrom to unfreeze the hard drive (Bypass the bios) I read somewhere that if you have the hdd power unpluged while the xboxhdm disc loads and then plug it in before choosing any options (while at the main xboxhdm menu). worked like a charm. My softmod files were still available, just booted mechassult, re softmodded and all apps and data were still there. Good luck and happy hunting! |
