I've been told that this drive is unlockable if it says "Quickview" on it. I bought the drive not knowing it was a Quickview drive because NewEgg did not say it was in the item description. The drive refused to lock with UnleashX, Xenium, ConfigMagic, and the EvolutionX Dashboard. However, when I formatted the drive with an EvolutionX New HD Install CD it locked when it was done. But if the drive is unlocked afterwords it WILL NOT LOCK AGAIN. So do not buy this drive with Quickview unless you never plan on unlocking the HD after you use the Install CD. I recommend not buying this drive if it is a Quickview, it will save you a lot of headache.
The drive isn't too noisy, I can't hear it over the fan when it's at 2.0x. It also doesn't produce much heat. |
